OUR STORY

Colette Berube, owner and baker, came to the United States in 1953, after she left her hometown of Metz, France. She has more than 30 years of baking experience, including about 26 year at La Petite France Bakery in Stafford.  She started La Brioche in December 2008.

“My daughter thought I was crazy to open this,” Ms. Berube said, “but I missed the people, and I love what I do.”  “Bread is the stuff of life,” she said. “And everybody tells me I have the best bread.”

“I think it is wonderful to have a new business on West Main Street in Vernon. There is a lot of foot traffic here between the town hall and the courthouse. I think Colette will do very well. “Her pastries are fantastic too so that should help a lot.” State Senator Tony Guglielmo (R-Vernon).
